THE WRITERS ROOM
Aina Jankunas | Holy Blog Editor-In-Chief
Welcome to the Holy Blog Writers Room! Leading a team of talented writers has been a long-time dream of mine, and it’s an absolute honor to bring that vision to life here at Holy Blog. Writing has been a passion of mine since grade school, a creative outlet I’ve danced with privately over the years. Holy Blog has given me the opportunity to bring that passion into the spotlight, where I can share my voice on a platform that celebrates young female writers. I earned my Journalism Degree from Loyola Marymount University in 2021, and since then, I’ve dedicated my writing to exploring topics that truly excite me—fashion, sustainability, and the vibrant world of vintage resale. These subjects aren’t just writing topics; they’re personal passions that shape the way I view the world. I’m thrilled to collaborate with such a dynamic team to create a wealth of writing that inspires, informs, and celebrates individuality. Together, I hope we can craft pieces that reflect Holy Blog’s mission and connect with our readers on a meaningful level.
Jessica Rowe | Co-Editor & Head Of Astrology
My favorite placement is my Venus in Libra in the 3rd house—it’s all about beautiful communication. I fell in love with writing when I started journaling about tarot and astrology, using the concepts to reflect on everyday life. Journaling is such a beautiful practice because it lets you see how your perspective shifts and evolves over time. It’s something I’ve done consistently in the mornings for the past five years, becoming an important grounding ritual for me. Learning about astrology and tarot also opened my eyes to how everything is connected and how we all play an important role in this life. That’s what inspired me to start writing about other things I care about, like lifestyle and sustainability.
Taylor Trotta | Writer
I’m Taylor Trotta, a lifelong fan of the secondhand lifestyle. My love for vintage started in high school, with weekly thrift store trips to hunt for grungy '90s dresses and curate my style. There’s nothing quite like pairing my 5-year-old ripped tights, my grandma’s old sweater, and a vintage slip with my trusty Docs—it’s where comfort meets character. What began as a style choice turned into a passion for activism in 2018, when I confronted the harsh realities of fast fashion’s global impact on the environment and social justice. Now, I’m dedicated to building community around mending, reusing, and resisting overconsumption.
Devin Miles | Writer
Hi, my name is Devin, I'm the world's biggest dreamer, and I love all things fashion, music, and metaphysics! As a leo, a look that sets me apart from the crowd is everything to me, so vintage fashion is my preferred weapon of choice. My style changes from day to day, so the versatility of vintage clothes help me express my creativity effortlessly. Finding unique pieces and exploring different ways to style and keep them in rotation is one of the most fun parts of life, in my opinion. I worked for the Holy Thrift IRL shop when it opened, and now I'm back to write for the blog! As someone with interest in both fashion and spirituality, I spend a lot of time looking into how the two can intersect and look forward to sharing what I've learned with the Holy Thrift community :)
Iris Petrova | Writer
My name is Iris, and I’m a writer at Holy Thrift! Currently, I am working towards my degree in information systems and marketing and a minor in art & design. I am fascinated by the intersection of culture, film, fashion, and music and enjoy exploring and discussing these connections. I adore vintage clothing specifically because the garments exude character, a sense of fashion history that is irreplaceable. The hunt for unique pieces that are often one-of-a-kind is a very thrilling feeling. Through curating my vintage shop, Eyecandi, I feel like I have been able to share this feeling with others.
Elizabeth Mclaughlin | Writer
My name is Elizabeth, and the first thing I ever wanted to be was a fashion designer, and the second thing was a writer. As I grew up, it became clear to me that the path to traditional fashion design was eroding, and for good reason: fashion is so Wasteful, with a capital W. My love of the hunt + my passion for environmentalism complement each other and lead me to who I am today. I'm an avid thrifter, Depop peruser, and in my day job, I sell wholesale excess clothing from virtually every brand imaginable. The company that I work for collects roughly 100k pounds of clothing per day, so I'm saturated with excess in my day-to-day. I upcycle bags under the brand name Betty Heaven, and my inspiration mostly comes through the music and media I consume. My first drop was based on my favorite albums, and recently, I've been making a lot of art related to my favorite TV shows (Desperate Housewives, Cougar Town, The Office). Some of my favorite brands are Custo Barcelona and Juicy Couture. I love anything that reminds me of being 8 years old, playing with Polly Pockets and watching Hannah Montana.
